Lots of messages left to the Campbell County Board of Education and unfortunately if you're looking at the petition you cant see them so here's a chance to hear the words of those supporting the new elementary school being named for Mr. Ken Bruce.

Thank you for sharing your wish to have the new elementary school named in honor of Mr. Ken Bruce. I have been working with the school board and have hopes that this will be accomplished.
Right now I can't say that it will positively happen but with your petition and the prayers of man Campbell Countians, I certainly hope to see this happen.

i think this is a good thing. and i know that mr. bruce is lookin over us and he is very appreciated by this!
He was a good man and this would be a perfect way to honor his name for the service that he did for CCHS students that day.
Ken Bruce was a great man. He deserves this among many other honors.
We need to take this positive action...not only to honor Ken...but to take another step in healing our community.
I honestly feel that had my brother not been killed at work he would have gone on to do so many great things for the children of Campbell County that there would have eventually been a school with his name on it anyway. Just ask the kids.
Mr. Bruce was a great man who gave his life for the students in Campbell County High School. There has not been enough done by the Campbell County School Board to honor his great sacrifice. It would be a great step in the direction of honoring his memory if the new elementary school was named after him.
WE THINK THIS WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO SHOW EAST TENN THAT CAMPBELL COUNTY IS CAPABLE OF DOING THINGS RIGHT. WE ARE ALWAYS IN THE MEDIA IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT THIS COULD BE THE SILVER LINING AROUND THIS HORRIBLE CLOUD!
I think that this should be done. I knew Mr. Bruce since Elementry school. He was a great and honorable person.
Mr. Bruce was an educator that made a difference in so many lives. He guided many of us for years. He made a difference on the people who knew him.

Ken was one of my cousins, and he was taken from us far to soon. He loved his work and the children loved him! I think he should be honored by naming a school after him. I think he earned it!!!

As a friend of the Bruce's and as an educator in this state, I would urge you to name the elementary school after Ken. He was a wonderful example of caring about students and putting them first. I can't think of a better way to honor him in Campbell county than to name a school for him. As a counselor, I was in the group of people who went to Campbell County after the shooting. I spent a day at East LaFollete Elementary school. It was awesome to me that so many of the children still remembered him although he had been gone for several years. He was obviously respected and loved by his staff. Ken paid the ultimate price that each of us in the school setting know we may have to pay because of the risk associated with working with children. Please honor him and his memory in this way.
Ken gave his all. Keep his memory in our community alive.

Although I am no longer a Tennesseean, I am a friend of Ken Bruce's would-be daughter-in-law and I think naming the new school after this man who gave his life would be a kind gesture and a respectful way to honor him and his family.
I can sympathize w/Mr. Bruce's family. I have lost a family member in a sudden, violent way, and I know the devastating effects that it has had on my family. I can't even put it in words. Any way that we can honor our loved ones' memories is very important.
There is nothing we can do to take such a tragedy as this back, but there are things we can do to insure it never takes place again... R.I.P KEN BRUCE
It would be one of the greatest things ever done here in this county!
I believe that his is a very nice thought and gesture to honor a man that was dearly loved by the community. There is such a negative vibe surrounding the whole issue, but by doing this it shows that we, as a communiyt, are resilient and will move on in his honor.
Lets honor Ken Bruce
The very least the school board can do to honor this fine outstanding man, who gave his life doing what he loved, is to have a school named in his honor.

Ken was a wonderful educator and support to students. But, equally, if not more important, he was a exceptional father and husband. He was committed to his community and country and I can think of no better honor than to name a school after him. It would sptly symbolize the kind of man he was.
I think that naming the new Elementary school in honor of Mr.Ken Bruce would be a great idea because it would show that people actually care for him and it would probably be greatly appreciated by his family and all students at Campbell County High and to me I think that naming the new elementary school after Mr.Bruce would be the right thing to do.

I think after everything Mr. Bruce done while he was with the students, this is the least amount of respect we can show to him and his family. He deserves, his family deserves it and the community of Campbell County deserves it.

Any educator who loses his life during fulfillment of his duties deserves to be recognized and memorialized. Many give to the profession, but very few actually lose their lives.
Mr. Bruce was in a profession made was to make a change in the lives of the children and peopl he came into contact with. To honor him with an Elementary School with his name would be the best way to show that we will continue to remember what it was he was teaching us.
There should be no need for a petition. This should be an automatic thing. Ken gave his all for his students and this school system. I do not understand what further discussion is needed.
I strongly agree! Some people say we shouldn't still continue with this issue but we can't just forget about it. He was a great man that died for what he loved and for all the students of Campbell County High School!
Living out of the area for 53 years, I only know what I've read that he was a dedicated educator and a fine decent man. I think the recoginition is well deserved and an honor for his loved ones.
There have been many educators in CC's history who have given much but none has given as much as Mr. Bruce. Pleas consider naming the school in his honor and memory.

When there is a chance to watch kids doing something GOOD like this You should pay attention. It should not be 'Business as usual' here. It is a time to honor an educator that was very respected.

I think that all schools should have metal detectors so that teachers and administrators such as Mr. Bruce, and children are not at risk of appalling school shootings.
My family and I knew Ken personally. Ken was a fine man, good father and a good christian man. He served his country with honor and respect in the U.S. Army. I feel that Ken was is and will continue to be a fine roll model for many generations of young people to come. Kens love of his students and his job in the school system was boundless.

As a nephew of Mr. Seale, I believe that it would be a fabulous memorial for such a man as Mr. Bruce.

If Ken Bruce had not taken an active part in motivating me to graduate high school, I would have not graduated. Nor would I have gone to College. Nor would my life be as good as it had been.

Mr.Bruce was one of the best men at that school and we all know that, and not everyone had the chance to realize that before they got to the high school so cant we please give all those who didnt a memory of him by naming this school after his acheivment with the students and the school.

To name this school after a man of his statute would not only be an honor but a duty to the service of all teachers who put themselves on the line everyday in order to teach all children. With the service that he has provided for the children of this community, it would be only fitting to give this school a name that is one of great importance so that Mr. Bruce's legacy as a leader in this community can be remembered for many years to come.
I urge you to name the new school in honor of Ken Bruce. Hundreds of teenagers are better today because of the impact he had on their lives.Naming the school in his honor will continue that impact. I urge you to allow this to happen.

To the C.C. School Board and C.C. School System Staff: Never assume that a young adult is thinking rationally when they stand before you with a calm demeanor. Their body language might be misleading. They may be raging inside with confused thoughts and their heart hurting from childhood experiences suffered for years and months on end. Never underestimate the extent of their reaction or behavior to an issue, especially if the issue has been long standing. Never trust that the discipline of family members or guardians and the influence of peers, friends, and family have been good when they displayed bad behaivor. They may have been taught that anger and fighting back is the answer to all. Always take the time to evaluate their home life and listen to what they are showing not saying. Never give up hope that they can't be helped. Always respect the person and never believe that they can't be taught to change a bad habit. With patience, tolerence and faith any young adult can be helped. Never bully the child that bullies others. Last but certainly not least, never stop praying for them. With this being said, it is possible we would not be naming any place, street, facility or day of the year after a victum of circumstance such as this.

I just think that naming the new school after Bruce would be a fantastic Idea. He did so much for CCHS and for the whole school system as a whole. He gave his life in the line of duty, so naming the school after him would really be a respectful thing to do.

Mr. Bruce was a great man and he cheered everyone up just with his smile. By naming this school after him everyone will be able to remember what a great man he was and what a true hero he really is.
Ken Bruce was an incredible influence on my husband's life. He was a friend and a mentor. We contribute our happiness in our military life to the great start he gave us while my husband was under his leadership in ROTC at Ole Miss. Captain Bruce spent time with us as a couple to prepare us for the challenges that lay ahead for us considering life in the military. I don't think there are a lot of teachers that take the time at that level of education to do that. He was an inspiration and truly a remarkable, caring educator. We feel most passionately that he should be recognized for his many accomplishments. We often reflect on the influence he had and how it has enhanced our experiences. I think this is a great idea and hope it will help the community remember Mr. Bruce. Maybe it will help kids remember this crime and let them think about things befor they decide to do something wrong.

If you were not there you cannot say you understand. Just give the man the credit that is due him for his service to our schools.
We are always looking for ways to get the students involved and feel pride in their schools. What better way than to allow them the opportunity to honor someone that touched their lives. Please seriously consider the impact of your decision on these wonderful students. God bless
Ken gave his life to better the children's education but also he was a friend to them and that is what made him such a valuable part of the system. He made an impact on so many children as well as adults.

I was at CCHS on November 8 and I thank God that Mr. Bruce, Mr. Seale, and Mr. Peirce were there to protect us. I think that Mr. Bruce deserves to be honored for what he did because he will forever be my hero.

Mr. Bruce was not just a principal, he was a friend you could count on to be there when you needed him. He laid his life down for the students of CCHS, and I believe it's time to repay him with this incredible honor.
My granddaughter Amber-Shea Main goes to CCHS & has told me so many wonderful things about Mr. Bruce & I believe he deserves this honor. You are all in our prayers!
