Updates from a personal view

From the online petition to hard copies in the community we currently have over 2000 signatures and no telling how many by November 16 when they meet again and this petition is presented to them. To the School Board of Campbell County: you  should realize that most of you were elected by these supporters and their families and you should be listening to what our community is clearly wanting.   I'm sure they voted for you because they believed you would work for the people.  Don’t assume that just because you were elected that it gave you ultimate power with complete disregard to the people who put you there to act at will.  The voters will be seeing how you behave as an “elected official” so I am sure during future election time these actions won’t be forgotten.

What kind of message are we sending our children when they step forward to be heard by the school board and petition for consideration of a name for a school and they are “handed their hats”. I'm here tonight to discuss naming the new elementary school after Mr. Ken Bruce.  I was told should tell about the Bruce's have generations of connections to Campbell Co. and the fact that Mr. Bruce graduated at Lafollette High School ..  he was teacher and was a principal.  But he was your employee you should know all that.  I was told to explain the difference between this honor and other honors given to other former principals, well this is a totally different situation.  I told to address  the political issues, well as a parent I thought the School Board worked for the students and the community not for the politicians.  So I'm not going there either.

I want tell you about a promise.
